Hello Everyone!
My name is Tammi and I’m the Creative Director for AWG Adventures.
I’ve always been interested in photography, web design, and graphic design. From the first computer class I took in high school, I knew that whatever I did in my life would have something to do with using a computer. While I enjoy my creative pursuits, I also take time to read, write, listen to music, and watch my favorite shows.
Travel wasn’t something I’d done much of growing up. Unless it was to see family, trips were few, and none were to any place exotic or out of the ordinary. I’d always wanted to travel outside of the United States and see what else is out there.
While in college, I studied art history and became fascinated with the art and architecture in Italy, France, Germany, and other countries. I wanted to visit the museums and explore the old cities. The history, food and culture all called to me. How I was going to do it, I wasn’t sure. I just knew it was something that I wanted to do in my life.
Before Mike and I got married in 2014, we looked at planning a honeymoon. First we looked at going to Disneyland and staying at one of the hotels at the park. The cost was astounding. We then looked to see how much it would be to go to Italy for a week instead. The cost was about the same. Due to a series of events beyond our control, that trip had to be postponed, but we still had a wonderful honeymoon.
In 2015 things looked better and we started to plan again. I was browsing online and came across a deal for a trip to Ireland. While I hadn’t really considered going to Ireland, I knew my husband had enjoyed it when he visited and wanted to go back and explore more than he was able to when he was there briefly in 1996.
We booked the trip for October of 2016. It was my first trip out of the country and it was that trip that really made me want to travel and get out of my comfort zone. It was relaxing and an adventure at the same time. Seeing the castles, tasting the food, and exploring the cities was so much fun.
Now travel has become one of my many passions. I enjoy documenting our adventures through photos, sharing my adventures with others, and helping others when planning their own adventures. My hope is through this site to be able to inspire others to go outside their comfort zones and go on an adventure they would have otherwise avoided.
